The proposal that Ubisoft makes with Watch Dogs Legion is to involve the player in a story that takes place in a dystopian future not too far away, in which British society lives the consequences of Brexit. The city of London shows very obvious changes about the current city, and also others that may not be too flashy, although they are extremely interesting. One is the design change suffered by the United Kingdom flag, and that would reveal that the historical heritage of the game might not be the same as the real world.
In the preview published yesterday by the gala developer we can see different flags that are not the current United Kingdom, because they include a yellow border around the cross of St. George. This addition could have a political explanation that follows the fictional events created by Ubisoft.
The flag of the United Kingdom, the iconic Union Jack, is a combination of the crosses of the employers of England, Scotland and Ireland. North, three of the four regions that, together with Wales, form the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The proposal of this new version of the flag would also include the cross of Saint David of the Welsh flag, which makes us suspect that the whole plot of Watch Dogs Legion runs on an alternative timeline.
