Certainly, EA was not as expected in the EA Play 2019. Circumstances such as having a show that lasted for hours and not knowing how to watch all the goodness of video games like Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order are not a problem for the viewer or the player; they are for the company or developers, who signed a very bad first impression difficult to correct. FIFA 20 did not do the same, but as we already tell you in our first playable at the controls of FIFA 20 since E3 2019, we do miss more information on the different novelties of the game and its main novelty for the edition of the present year: VOLTA.
The Adaptation to the present of the FIFA Street model in a coherent way for the times. Street football will be included within the video game itself, as it happens with FIFA Ultimate Team or the different game modes of the EA Sports simulator, and will allow urban soccer to be played on the streets of the main cities of the world in mixed format and with different rules to enjoy a multiplayer cooperative in which your avatar is the main protagonist of the experience. How? Accessing different rewards that will allow you to customize it to your liking and turn it into your own virtual self, although it seems that you will not forget the professional players, who star in the new edition of FIFA.
For what is shown in the playable, it seems that the use of the walls will be key in the new videogame, using them for passes and bursts, but also for acrobatic movements that we will not see in FIFA 20. Among the cities that are presenting for VOLTA are Buenos Aires, London, Tokyo or Amsterdam, each one offering his particular vision on his way of understanding urban environments and football itself. The question that many players are asking, however, has to do with the decision of Electronic Arts to include the game mode in FIFA 20 and not to release it as it was done in past installments. Makes sense? If we see it from the industry’s current point of view, surely yes.
The previous attempt of FIFA Street, launched between FIFA 12 and FIFA 13, did not have the expected success. Beyond the decisions made on the beach, which provided an interesting facelift to the way FIFA played, the reality is that not many players were willing to buy two FIFA a year. The other solution for FIFA Street did not seem to work: the original trilogy tried to separate itself from the main saga, but the fervor of the users went off as the episodes of the saga progressed, with a FIFA Street 3 that never convinced the followers , nor in the playable or visual. It seems that the realistic but carefree approach of FIFA Street 2012 accommodates to the present, especially if it is able to make it profitable and turn it into a product in which you can get profitability in terms of microtransactions.
It was a pity that we did not see more of the VOLTA in E3 than what was presented in the FIFA 20 trailer, exhibited in the EA Play 2019. The company, however, did specify some curious details about the new game mode, which is allegedly displayed at the next Gamescom. Highlights the VOLTA Story mode, in which players will enjoy a story based on street football. You must recruit players from around the world to create a team capable of becoming the VOLTA world champion. The VOLTA League will be the competitive on-line software championship, based on the divisional system that FIFA has embraced in recent years. VOLTA Kick-Off will allow you to take the best teams of FIFA 20 to the streets and enjoy a more fun environment and away from modern football.
Among the game modes are the 3 against 3, the 4 against 4 and 5 against 5. The first two modes can be enjoyed without goalkeeper, while the fifth will have an extra modality called Professional Futsal which, taking into account the name, will surely take the rules of futsal as the main claim. It has been confirmed, in addition, that the customizable elements of the players will be, among others, t-shirts, boots, jackets, tattoos and hairstyles. How will they be achieved? The only thing that has been explained is that new elements will be accessed according to the level, but it seems obvious that the aesthetic elements can become a new currency within the envelopes and the loot boxes or loot boxes already used by FIFA . In any case, we will have to wait for new developments in this field. The launch of FIFA 20 will take place on September 27.
