No doubt, Spider-Man was one of the most important releases of the last year, an ambitious title that was the biggest production of Insomniac to date. And as expected in developments of this scale, the game went through different phases in which the designers tried different versions of elements and mechanics. Some images, hitherto unpublished, show how the game’s HUD was originally, a good example of a significant change compared to the final version.
Jaume Mora worked with Insomniac on the design and development of the interface of the user and the HUD, designed to be completely 3D and driven by the engine to react to the physics of the game in real time. The gallery shared by Mora show numerous changes in the menus, together with the secret of how the spectacular start of Spider-Man was made, is an interesting look at this project.
