This week saw the first trailer of the Sonic live-action film that opens this year. Before this advance, the dissatisfaction of the audience due to the appearance of the Sega blue hedgehog was very noticeable. Some of them redesigned it with results much closer to the character of the videogame. So far, the official trailer has almost 20 million views, about half a million negative votes and only 270,000 positive votes.
At Paramount they are aware that fans did not like the appearance of the director, Jeff Fowler, who appreciated the criticism and reported that they will do something about it.
” Thanks for the support. And the criticism. The message is loud and clear … they are not satisfied with the design and want changes. It will happen. Everyone at Paramount and Sega are totally committed to making this character as BETTER as possible … ” wrote the director.
We will have to see the impact and magnitude of the changes that the director refers to. Undoubtedly, it will be interesting to keep track of the project.
Sonic The Movie premieres in November in cinemas in America (including Mexico) and on December 27 in Spain.
Thank you for the support. And the criticism. The message is loud and clear… you aren't happy with the design & you want changes. It's going to happen. Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be… #sonicmovie #gottafixfast 🔧✌️
