After many months of rumors and work by its main managers, Warner Bros. Pictures gave the green light to the production of a new film adaptation of Mortal Kombat. Now, the American major has dated the premiere of the New Line Cinema film for March 5, 2021.
No new information has been offered about the project, beyond what is already known that the film will be directed by debutant Simon McQuoid under a script by Greg Russo with James Wan in the production. If all goes well, as we announced a few days ago, the feature film could start recording at the end of the year in Australia.
If there are no changes in the release dates, Mortal Kombat will have a tough showdown at the box office with the cinematographic reboot of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, an adaptation of Sony on these mythical characters of Mattel.
In video games, we remember, a few days ago Mortal Kombat 11 was launched on the market, a complete title and capable of satisfying all strata of fans of fighting games, regardless of their experience in gender or depth as commented by fellow Toni Piedrabuena in his analysis of MK11.
