Yesterday some media echoed a rumor about a supposed Assassin’s Creed Ragnarok that was shown in a handful of supposedly new images. Ubisoft’s tradition of leaks of this type made some rush to validate, but the information did not come from any reliable source (much less) and, in addition, the images were extremely poor even for a prototype. Everything pointed to what was going to be a hoax.
There was no shortage of the first comments in Resetera’s thread seeing similarities with an expansion of Mount and Blade Vikings, or some that found similar suspects with a series of Unity demonstrations. Finally, the falsity of the images has been completely confirmed, and it has been verified that they are works of adaptation of textures of some scenarios of the engine (which can be purchased without problems in the engine shop) as shown by the images that you can see accompanying the news.
The demonstration that it was a fraud only took a few hours to come to light, and the administrators of Rescue, from which the title information had also emerged (initially through the 4Chan forums), have already closed the thread and publicly declared their status as “Fake”.
Logically that it has been shown that the images of this Assassin’s Creed Ragnarok are not meant to mean that the next Game of the Assassin’s Creed saga can not end up being Vikings. In fact, about a month ago we told you (through much more reliable sources) that the Assassin’s Creed of 2020 can have a Viking setting.
