The adaptation for the big screen of the Minecraft phenomenon is still underway by Warner Bros. Pictures. So much so that we have known that Allison Schroeder, screenwriter of the much anticipated Frozen 2, will write the film.
Schroeder premiered last year the production of The Walt Disney Company Christopher Robin and his Oscar with nomination in best script adapted for the historical drama Hidden Figures (2016). His hiring reveals a reworking of the project by the studio as well as by Mojang, the team responsible for the video game, and the producers Roy Lee and Jon Berg.
Minecraft is scheduled for premiere on March 4, 2022, and at the moment, there are no changes in management tasks, still in the hands of Peter Sollett.
In videogames, Minecraft recently made news by selling 176 million copies since its launch and more than five years of life, a figure that has opened the debate on whether the title of Mojang is already the most successful sales adventure in history
