For many reasons, there is a Westwood classic that is less known than it should be among the new generations. We talked about Blade Runner, a graphic adventure with several ahead of time, with several endings, important decisions and an excellent cinematographic rhythm. Why has it gone so unnoticed? Because of the difficulty of access to it in the middle of 2019.
However, we have good news. The thing is going to change soon. A project has been announced by the ScummVM team to facilitate the use of this very important title and, at this moment, the testing phase is proceeding.
In fact, you can participate in the project Blade Runner helping to “locate bugs” and other problems. For this you need to copy a series of files from your original video game (both the CD version and the Spanish DVD are supported) and join them with the most recent version of ScummVM. At the moment there is no premiere date, and its managers are responsible for making clear that “it is a version in process and that is not yet complete.”
The video game is a hidden gem and that is, for licensing problems and the complexity of its abundant cinematic load, it has not versions in current digital stores and no remastering is on the way.
