The veteran team of Nippon Ichi Software, authors among others of the Disgaea saga, would be facing serious financial problems due to the low sales of their latest releases in the Japanese market, which would have caused the studio to have even difficulties pay the salary of their employees.
To redirect the situation the Nippon Ichi team would have put for sale negotiable options, which are a financial product similar to the shares, in order to avoid getting into debt with loans or external investments. The cause of this crisis? Without an official statement by the Japanese study, there is talk of the low sales of its latest releases in the Japanese territory, with special mention to Disgaea RPG, a title developed in collaboration with Forward Works, which shortly after starting its service in the past March had to be withdrawn due to multiple problems … and so it continues, without having restarted its service.
Nothing has been said either of NIS America, the subsidiary responsible for editing its launches in the West, it is unknown if this crisis is exclusive in Japan or has it occurred in other territories. The Japanese work on multiple projects, among which Murder Detective stands out: Jack the Ripper or Destiny Connect. In several times they have adapted several of their titles to Nintendo Switch and PC, among which the games of the Disgaea series stand out.
