It’s no secret that Disney is particularly protective of their franchises, so it’s easy to understand that Respawn Entertainment had a hard time making a story about the Jedi like Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Speaking with Game Informer, Vince Zampella (studio chair) explained how his idea managed to fit in with the IP owners.
” It’s great to work with the history group [of Disney and LucasArts] ” explains the executive. ” They also have a lot of opinions. Everything lined up pretty well … at first they were a bit captious with the idea of doing a Jedi story, because, you know, that’s very precious. We were able to convince them of this, Stig [Asmussen, director of the game] did a great job forming something that appealed to them. In the end, the game is called Jedi, so I think we got away with our and we did a good job. “
In the interview, Zampella also appreciates the possibility of separating from the robots and the action in the first person who had characterized the Titanfall series so far, allowing them to demonstrate their potential in other areas Star Wars Jedi : Fallen Order will be available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One next November 15.
