The Spanish studio Chibig has announced that its promising Summer in Mara, a video game that successfully exceeded its Kickstarter campaign, delays its launch until February 2020 in order to improve the work and offer the title that its fans expect. “Please be patient with us,” warn from the development team.
Chibig recognizes that several publishers have been interested in this adventure inspired by great successes such as Stardew Valley or The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, but the team wants to not only develop Summer in Mara but also promote and edit it on its own. “It’s the first time we do something like that,” they comment on their Kickstarter page. “Yes, we know that. Another Kickstarter video game that does not meet its initial launch plan; but we have tried until the last minute always looking for new solutions, and it is time to face the harsh reality”.
From the Spanish study they emphasize that they want to ” guarantee quality ” of the video game on all its platforms, in addition to its adequate translation. Chibig will not miss the opportunity to visit more fairs and exhibitions to publicize its promising adventure that stands out for its beautiful visual section.
“We want to offer the best quality on all platforms,” they insist. While the game postpones its release to February 2020, the authors of Summer in Mara emphasize that physical rewards for those who participated in the Kickstarter campaign will be offered, as planned, in October of this year. Among them are postcards, art books and even a ukulele.
