The new regulation of Konami penalizes the lack of hygiene of the participants in the official competitions. Konami has announced that it will penalize players who smell bad during their Yu-Gi-Oh tournaments. The Japanese company has decided to penalize Yu-Gi-Oh players who are not clean during official competitions.
In this way, they demand a minimum of personal grooming to their players if they want to participate in their events. Through a statement, a new code of “Hygiene and Cleanliness” is specified within Subsection I of the “Duelists Code”. The new norm establishes that “all the people that attend a tournament are clean and wear clean clothes “, being able the organization of the events “to exercise exemplary sanctions” before the breach of this new rule.
The code of conduct of the participants further states that “duelists” cannot wear headphones during a game, can not eat or drink at tournament tables or between rounds, nor can they wear masks, costumes or face paints that cover their faces during the registration process or during a match.
It is still not confirmed if Konami will extend this new rule to the other competitions it organizes, while fans of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Franchise await the release of Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution, the new title of the series that will arrive in the West this year for Nintendo Switch and will include a collection of 9,000 cards.
