As promised this week, The Pokémon Company today released a new video of about eight minutes to give us an in-depth look at Pokémon Masters, the new mobile game that will allow you to meet and make friends with the most iconic coaches of the saga. The presentation sets the release date of the program in the summer of 2019 with the promise of giving more information soon, and also gives more details about the history and combat mechanics.
Thus, Pokémon Masters will be acclimated on the island of Passio, where coaches travel with a single Pokémon labeled as ” compi ” Each human and Pokémon duo competes with others to win the title of World Pokémon Masters champions, a somewhat more conventional idea.
The distinctive feature of Masters lies in the combat system: this time, we will team up with other coaches and their compis to participate in battles of 3 vs. 3 Pokémon in real time, but their coaches also actively participate with their own movements. As is logical, this does not imply that our avatars have special powers, but they can develop unique links with their Pokémon that allow them to heal or improve them in different ways during the game. In addition, we will have an energy bar that we will consume strategically with each movement that we execute. Clearly, it seems a great evolution compared to what was seen in the main games.
As we already knew, Pokémon Masters is being developed by DeNA, which has also signed a large part of the Nintendo mobile games, in collaboration with Game Freak, authors of the Pokémon trunk games. In fact, the main ideas behind the game were born from Game Freak artists and designers, such as Ken Sugimori or Junichi Masuda.
