Obsidian Entertainment commemorates the first anniversary of the great Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire presenting the ambitious 5.0 update, which includes numerous improvements and additions to the game. Of all of them, surely the most outstanding is ‘The Ultimate Challenge’, a challenge designed for the elite of players who know the route and mechanics of the game like the back of their hands.
By activating The Ultimate Challenge, the challenges of the gods challenge are also enabled. For example, it does not allow us to recruit other characters or pause the game, and in turn-based mode we have only 10 seconds to make strategic decisions. We can not run away from the fighting, and any character stunned for 10 seconds or 3 turns is considered dead. And that’s just to name a few examples!
Since Obsidian doubt even that is possible to complete the game in this way, but you never know what can happen, so the first 50 players to achieve this feat (if there are any) will be rewarded with personalized patches. And the first 12, in addition to that, they will also see their names recorded on a plate in the Obsidian hall, along with the name, class and level of their characters.
Apart from this, the 5.0 update also greatly improves the interface of the naval combats of Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire, and also involves the final launch of the turn-based combat system. On the other hand, add additional dialogues to improve the story and adjust the difficulty and duration of the game for those who decide not to ally with any faction.
