A new rumor has just put on the map to possible RTX 2070 Ti from Nvidia. The filtered specifications speak of a GPU with 2560 CUDA cores, 14 Gbps of GDDR6 memory and a boost frequency of 1770 MHz. This would place it directly between the RTX 2070 and 2080, which have 2304 and 2944 cores and 1710 MHz and 1800 MHz, respectively.
The million dollar question is why it is necessary to cover this space where the new card would arrive. The answer is simple: by Navi. After the presentation of AMD’s new family of graphics, which seems to surpass 2070 in performance, it makes sense that they want to go ahead with something like that. The new graph would carry the TU-104 chip, as a limited version of the RTX 2080, since the RTX 2070 does not have all CUDA cores activated. Besides, dedicating a new chip would be too expensive for the company. If the filtered specifications are true, it would be surpass the RTX 2070 in 12% performance and it would be 15% short compared to the RTX 2080.
