Horror video games are a constant in Kickstarter, and it seems that the public is very willing to support projects of this kind in the crowdfunding platform. Now it’s his turn to present his credentials to a new game, Lamentum, by the Spanish team of Obscure Tales.
This is a pixel art horror adventure that is set in New England, in mid of the nineteenth century, and that puts us in the skin of the aristocrat Victor, who seeks to cure for a rare disease. The videogame drinks from the work of the well-known author H.P. Lovecraft, one of the most recurrent writers in videogames, and is set in the dark mansion of Grau Hill.
We will face terrible creatures, but there will be puzzles in a video game that their managers define as inspired by Resident Evil or Silent Hill, as well as in the myths of Cthulhu. It is planned to be released at the beginning of 2020 on PC, then on Nintendo Switch, and later this year on PS4 and Xbox One.
Lamentum, which you can already support on your Kickstarter, asks for 15,000 euros to get the project ahead. It has just started and already has more than 1,000 euros from 34 sponsors, so there are good expectations for this “descent into a spiral of madness” to come to fruition.
