Ghost Recon: Breakpoint has a production process of two years now, according to the managers of Ubisoft Paris at GamesFreeBlue on a visit to their offices. In the game is working the same team in Ghost Recon: Wildlands: “Breakpoint is just as great, but better, thanks to everything we’ve learned.” In total, there are more than a thousand developers involved, divided into eight studios: Paris, Milan, Monpellier, Bordeaux, Belgrade, Kiev, Odessa and Bucharest The latter is in charge of the PVP.
In the studio they declare themselves “Ghost Recon” fans, and they claim To have wanted to create something new for that reason they have devised a fictional island, with new enemies and a gameplay that depends on the environment: “We have looked at previous video games in the series to try to build something new,” commented Nouredine Abboud (Executive Producer).
” Although creating a videogame between eight studios is a complicated task and there was no lack of communication problems, the excitement for Ghost Recon kept us together “, added Abboud. Two large nuclei defends Ubisoft Paris for the creation of Breakpoint: one has to do with the world, with the island as a fundamental piece to create a survival gameplay; and the other is related to technology, with the use of the latest tools and techniques: “What we are doing was not possible in Wildlands”.
As a curious detail, Eric Couzian (Creative Director) sentenced us that for Breakpoint they have not been inspired by any book by Tom Clancy in particular: “It’s actually based on our experience with the series, on what We had overlooked and on working with military experts. ” Of course, they see that important that the games interact with each other, and that is the reason why new free missions were launched for Wildlands that explains where the new villain comes from, which we will see in Breakpoint.
