As part of the Gears Summer Invitational celebration of Gears 5, which took place last week, we questioned Rose Gunson, head of the sports program of the franchise, with respect to professional players. But what about those who are just beginning? What opportunities do they have? Well, Gunson revealed that the development of new talent is still a priority, and with Gears 5, they will continue to cultivate access roads that connect the amateur scene with the professional scene.
” The way we do our events are that we aim to support amateur and professional players, and we make sure that these connections exist in case you are strong enough to participate in a professional event; Have a route to follow. ” explained Gunson. “We are going to separate [professional and amateur scenes] in order to support amateur players at a level where they do not have to participate in an open key or go to a regional that does not lead to anything.”, Continued the executive .
We make sure that these connections exist in case you are strong enough to participate in a professional event; Have a route to follow
” We aim to give these people these opportunities, especially in new regions; and new areas to grow as players (…) have those Cinderella stories, because that’s also really important for Gears. I think that, in terms of small events, in the future we ask ourselves how we support those events, as part of the amateur leagues, and make sure that those players succeed there, and if they are strong enough to go out and join the professional league, that is what we want to see. We want to see people compete where they fit, and not feel out of place or play in the wrong area. & Quot; I have concluded.
The first Gears 5 professional competition took place in Atlanta A few days ago, where TOX Gaming, the most dominant team in recent years, was crowned again, leaving on the way to a squad formed, mainly by Mexican players: Ghost. That said, Gunson also revealed that Gears 5 will put even more focus on the competitive front of its activities. The technical test phase of Gears 5 starts this weekend and the game, as such, will debut on September 10.
