The videogame industry is one of the many sectors concerned with Brexit in British lands. Faced with the difficult circumstances of the different companies operating in the United Kingdom and with platforms such as Games4EU, which do nothing but argue the serious problems that Brexit will cause in British industry, France wants to fish in troubled waters and proposes to change of scene to English companies.
Join the Game is the campaign promoted by the French government to attract British potential to its lands, proposing tax advantages and financing to the interested teams. On the web it is explained that “Join the Game illustrates the commitment of the French government to offer foreign publishers and developers, studios and independents, opportunities to discover the optimal environment to excel in the videogame industry.”
France has also highlighted that the French government “has been proposed to continue being an important center for the development of games”, in a country in which the industry generated, according to the Games Industry portal, more than 4.9 one billion euros. Will the tax benefits offered by the French be worth the undecided British studies?
