Although it is still difficult to say what Death Stranding is about, the new trailer of the game is loaded with clues and details about the plot devised by Hideo Kojima. One of these peculiarities that maybe could go unnoticed is that the transitions between scenes of the footage are actually someone blinking.
Each time the trailer jumps from one scene to another, the montage fades in the two dark horizontal bars close and reopen to show a new image, simulating a blink. Who owns this shared point of view with the viewer? Since the trailer begins and ends with the perspective of a newborn, it is more than likely that this advance is narrated from the subjectivity of one of the babies of the mysterious history of this title.
We will have to wait to November 8 to know to what extent this detail has relevance to the game’s argument, or if it is simply an aesthetic resource used by Kojima.
