Commercial disputes between the European Union and the United States could end up affecting the videogame industry.
The consoles of the future could be more expensive, and will not be due to a rise in production costs or a greater ambition of the manufacturers at the time of selecting the components, but by the open trade war between the United States and the European Union with this and other products as collateral victims.
This issue stems from a dispute, long in time, between Trump and Brussels following a series of aeronautical subsidies that caused the US president to threaten new tariffs on the EU market. This fact has not gone unnoticed by the European Commission, which has published its own list of taxes on imports of items such as the aforementioned consoles.
At the moment this whole issue does not go beyond the diplomatic clash of both economic powers, and to apply it is not at all clear how big their effects on these products would be, but it will undoubtedly be a matter to be taken into account especially now that the industry fixes its look at the new generation .
