The organizers of the Barcelona Games World have decided to expand this video game event to digital entertainment by incorporating “new sectors to its offer” such as television series, manga, movies or anime culture. It will also be with a new change of acronyms, because now the event will be known as NiceOne Barcelona (N1B).
“It is a strategic commitment to consolidate the event and expand it to other areas of the digital entertainment industry,” said the director of NiceOne Barcelona, Josep Antoni Llopart. “The patterns of young people and digital natives have changed and we believe that the future lies in offering the public space of transmedia experiences.”
The organization highlights that the current exhibitors have been delighted With this change in focus, the response “has been extraordinary”, which has encouraged them to make the change in 2019. With close to 140,000 visitors in the last edition, N1B will keep intact some of the great hallmarks of Barcelona Games World, such as the RetroBarcelona space, the professional and amateur eSports competitions organized by the LVP, or the Barcelona Mobile Challenge competitions.
The event will take place from November 29 to December 1 in the city of Barcelona.
