There is no turning back. The WHO confirmed the addiction to video games as a disorder more than its extensive catalog a few weeks ago and the question is now clear: are we addicted to video games? To find an answer to this question, different questionnaires are proliferating in the network, although none with as much professionalism as Do I play too much videogame?, Currently available in English.
This psychological test, they report from the British portal Eurogamer, has been carried out in collaboration by academic groups from the United Kingdom, China and Australia and is designed to allow players to compare their habits and behaviors with those of the rest of the community and find out, in this way, if they are not established by WHO for the definition of this disorder.
Before proceeding, it is worth remembering that, according to the World Health Organization, the excessive dependence on the use of videogames it manifests itself through three points: deterioration in control over the game (for example, start, frequency, intensity, duration, termination, context); increase in the priority given to the game to the extent that it precedes other interests and activities of daily life; and continuation or increase of the game even though it has negative consequences.
In this way the test of the aforementioned academics establishes through several questions to the users, which can be answered in approximately 20 minutes, if the user manifests a behavior characteristic of what is stated by the WHO.
