SteelSeries has announced two new keyboards in the Computex 2019 that are “the most versatile mechanical keyboards in the world”, mainly thanks to the possibility of adjusting their action point with the OmniPoint switches. Apex Pro and Apex Pro TLK, which is what they are called, can afford this possibility thanks to a system of magnetic sensors. The activation point of the keys can be varied between 0.4 mm and 3.6 mm from the keyboard itself, or using the SteelSeries Engine program. With so much potential in the distances of travel, we can afford to press the keys almost without touching them or imitate the effect of the typewriters with a huge path.
On the other hand, the keyboards have an OLED screen, that can be controlled with a scroll wheel next to it, showing profiles and notifications. Obviously, the wheel also serves to raise and lower the volume, as well as to control other functions of the SteelSeries Engine. The OmniPoint switches will be exclusive to the Apex Pro line, but from the Apex 7 and Apex 7 TKL models will also be available with the network switches, Brown and blue. For now it is known that the Apex Pro will arrive in the US on June 11 for $ 199 and 179 (the TKL version).
